Why Pocatello

Sometime in March, I was trying to make up my mind where I was going to move to. It was either Logan, Boise, or Pocatello.
I thought it through several times but was having the hardest time deciding. I talked with a few people about my situation and was told several times to pray about it. I hadn't. One reason is I wanted to study it out for myself first. To know what I really thought was best for me, and then ask God if I was right.

So one day while driving to the gym I was talking to my friend Katie on the phone, and through our conversation I realized I really wanted to go to Boise. I told her my mind was made up and that's what I was going to do.

Well, when I got home that night, I prayed. I said, "Heavenly Father, I've decided to go to Boise. Am I right?" Nope! Pocatello came into my mind. And here I am.

I used to tell people that I moved here because it was closer to my family, which is partially true. But the real reason is Heavenly Father told me it was where I am supposed to be.

After about a month of living here, I accepted a job at Convergys which I quit after a week of training because I had a nanny interview set up, and if that didn't work out I would move back to Arizona, because the family I was working for there was going through a change in situation where I would be able to go to school and work for them (which wouldn't have worked out before.) and I really missed being there.
So I went to two interviews with the family here in Pocatello and I thought they went well. I really liked the family, and even though it was only part time, I wanted to work for them.
They called me a few days after and told me they had chosen someone else. I was pretty sad. But the next morning I got a call from the manager of a small grocery store I had applied to about a month prior. He asked me to come in the next morning for an interview. So we had our interview and he asked me to come back in an hour to start work. It was so weird. And as the weeks passed, I really came to enjoy working there.

So I had a job, I got signed up for institute and found out where my ward was. I though I was pretty much settled. But I still had doubts about being here. I wondered quite often why I had felt I had to move here...

Even me and my cousin (and roommate, and FRIEND!) were joking one night and kept yelling into the air "Why are we here!? What are we doing!?" And then we fell asleep. Ha.

The next week, I was talking to a guy from my institute class, Ben, about not knowing why, but that for now, we just knew were supposed to be here. He said he thinks it might be for him to learn patience and trust. I tend to think the same thing. I thought "I can't wait til I can look back on this time in my life and see answers to all the questions I have right now."

That's already happening. Through my scripture study I know The Lord has blessed me. It's only been a week, but I can see the results. I feel peace in where I am in my life. I haven't felt that in a long time.

Institute class tomorrow is going to be on Jacob 5-7. Our teacher, Bro. Lee, has a blog where we post questions or comments and he bases the lesson on those questions and comments. One of the girls in our class said "He sends His children to lands where they can best be nourished and grow." referring to Jacob 5.

I now know why God impressed me to come here.

Someone on Facebook posted this status: "This part of my life is called giving all that I am and hope to be to God and letting Him make something incredible of me that I could never make of myself." I repeat it for myself.

I never thought I was the kind of person who would share my testimony on the internet, for all to see. "And here I am."
I know God is there for me and He answers my prayers, and I know the Book of Mormon is true.

Wallets by Oliver

Ever since my smallest brother, Oliver, was even smaller (maybe 2 or 3) he has been over flowing with artistic ability. These are a few wallets he has been creating lately. They aren't very practical (with the sticky closures and such) but I just love the little faces he makes in them. In my opinion, he's the awesomest 8 year old ever.

Ogden Garden

I spent a few days in Ogden at my parent's last weekend. It was the best ever! I got to hang out with my Katelynn quite a bit (Yay BFFs!), just chill in the family room (with family) and of course, get some peaches! I have been waiting several months for these babies to ripen up. The poor tree broke a limb this season from the weight. But the fruit is so good. Or as Nana would say "Mmmmm... Yummy!". (Slow with the "Mmmmm...", Quick with the "Yummy!")

I made a 4XL shirt I got for free into this dress! I'm so proud of my basic sewing skills. :D
My Aunt Kara came over with a Country Living magazine and gave me the idea to make the white inkblot on glass! The first attempt didn't go so well, but I'm pretty happy with the second. The original inkblot art from the magazine can be found here.

Golden Goodness

I just found this beauty at the thrift store for $2! I was so excited, first of all, because i have been searching for a gold chest-type thing for over a year, and second, because my snuggie needed a home somewhere in the living room and I haven't found a suitable storage ottoman yet. Haha!

I'm a little sad about the top, but I guess it gives it character. I may want to fix it someday though. How would I go about doing that?

Hello, California. Part 3

The last two days we spent in Disneyland and California Adventure. We rode all our favorites and Ethan and I went home early both nights because we were so tired (And we had to put the lasagna in for dinner).

This was the best vacation I have been on. Ever. Wonder what's next?

Hello, California. Part 2

On Sunday we took a short trip to Santa Monica Peir, and oh my goodness, it was awesome to see the ocean! It was my first time and I loved it. I was seriously so surprised when water got in my mouth though. It's so salty! Unexpected... Haha! I guess I just never thought about it. :P
I tried to bury my little brother, DJ, but he got tickled my the sand to much and broke out. So he said it was my turn and told me to put a towel over my eyes to keep the sand out. Made sense to me. A while after he started piling the sand on, a lot of it was blowing in my face! "Hold still! It's just the wind! It's the wind!" Yeah right... I jumped up and had sand all over my face and in my swimsuit. He said he was trying to give me a "sand beard". Haha! I can't help but laugh at how obnoxious he is. I wish I had taken more photos at the beach, but it kinda slips your mind when you're having so much fun!

It was 9/11 so it was nice to see a flag passing by periodically.

Back home my very best friend, Josh, was giving his farewell talk before he left on an LDS mission to Portland, Oregon. I miss him a lot, but I know he's going to have a great time and touch a lot of people's lives. If you want to follow his mission blog here it is! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, California. Part 1

This past week I was able to join my family on a trip to California to go to Disneyland. I almost didn't go, but my brother-in-law, James, finally convinced me to ask my boss (who I had worked for not even a month) for the time off. And to my surprise, gave it to me! I was so happy.
It still is absolutely amazing to me how awesome that park is! I have been before, but that was 13 years ago so I have few memories. But I loved it. And I loved having the time with my family. Of course there were fights, but it was the best.

Now for some photo's for your viewing pleasure.

Keely looks so excited about The Hollywood Tower. Not so. The next day we practically had to pull her on to it and she was glaring at me the whole time. In the end she liked it though (I think...).
She also hated Micky's Fun Wheel. The one where we're doing the "rock on" sign. Goodness, she is confusing!

It's Early

I am not an early bird, but a night owl.

I can hardly remember what I did with these hours I should have been sleeping through (it most definitely was not my huge pile of laundry, organizing my desk, or studying, like it should have been) but I do remember looking for these. It was a long search but yes, I have finally found the perfect leg for my lap desk.

I also watched Gone With The Wind for the second time in a week. (I'm working on getting a stand for that tv. Maybe I'll go get dressed after this and go find a yard sale. Maybe throw in a run there too. I ate a lot of chocolate last night...)

2 Months? Has it really been that long? Ugh... I seriously haven't even typed the word "blogger" this whole time. It's "vacations" like these and new numbers (like these 2011) that make me want to just delete this blog and start anew. Nope... Not this time, Kenna. You're pulling through.

So what have I been up to these last couple months?

....I can't really remember....

Oopsies!

I know I did go to Utah and Idaho with Ashlyn and Ryan the last week of November. It was a great trip ( you know, besides the flat tire, horrible snow storm, chains breaking on freeway, and just not having enough time to visit all of those missed friends and family!) and I loved at least getting to see my new niece if only for 20 minutes!

*sigh* I was planning on going back up for Christmas but to my great surprise my family decided to come here! I loved having them in Arizona, but I secretly wished they didn't come so I could see EVERYONE again! Don't get me wrong though, I was overjoyed to see them, hug them, and kiss them (well, only Ollie. And only when DJ's not around to tease him. :p)
My goodness did I miss my Ollie. I'm so glad he still lets me pick him up and snuggle him. I'm gonna cry the day he grows up and decided he's too old for that.

Well New Years was pretty uneventful. Ashlyn was dog sitting so we went over to the dog people's house and tried to watch Lost only to watch some plastic woman skydive on TV instead because Netflix was having issues. We got bored of that fairly quickly and decided to come home.
Okay never mind. It wasn't too uneventful. I forgot about the other 5 hours of my night...
I met some of my friends at a dance which was pretty great because they served us breakfast (like muffins and yogurt. I like.) after the dance. And this kid from my old ward came up to me and started telling me about his tradition to kiss a girl every New Year and this time it was apparently awkward. He's not the type of guy who seems like he'd have a steady girlfriend right now, so I have no idea who he kissed. Hope it wasn't anyone random.... Probably made it super awkward since he had a big smile painted on his face. A little skeleton-esque. Weird. He then proceeded to tell me that I should date him. Yupokaymaybenot.

*Goodness, no one's going to read this.... It's too long and poorly written! You can stop now if you want to.*

So yeah, I went home after that because I thought Mitchell needed my car to drive his like, uh, I don't know, lady friend(?) home but he took Ryan's car and we parked at the same time (I'm guessing, unless he just sat there forever waiting to dump his troubles on me. Heh heh.) His night was a little garbagey so we were gonna go to IHOP. But of course, New Years, it's closed. And everywhere else we go. Except a gas station. He got a burger or something and told me to drive him to a park so he could pee (haha!).

We said our goodnights and I ran up to the apartment only to find Ryan had locked the very topiest lock (the one you can't unlock from the outside.) "Dang it!" I called him, he answered, he didn't speak, he was asleep... Great.
So I call Mitch and tell him all about my sitcheyation. I sleep on their couch. Weeeeee!

The funniest thing was walking in around noon having Ashlyn look very confused as to why I was wearing my clothes from yesterday. She and Ryan assumed I was still asleep.

My 2nd Papa, Mike, (Ryan and Mitchell's dad) joked with me later about partying too hard, being drunk, forgetting where I lived, yada yada. I guess everyone thinks he has dry humor but I find him hilarious! Mike and his muhummy, Laurie, are the best. I'm so glad they are here!
Probably 10 times easier moving with my 2nd family right across the parking lot.

Not anymore though.... I just moved in with the family I nanny for ( They are so amazing!) because the lease was up on the apartment and the family Ashlyn nannies for said she and Rye could live there in exchange for yard work. No brainer. They accepted. And now we're like an hours drive away from each other! :/ Who cares though. I am just so lucky to have such awesome family around me. I think it was the right thing to do to move down here. I really love it. I almost don't want to move to Boise in the fall!
But that's a different story.

And I've seen several posts about The Ballerina Project these past few weeks (here, here, here, here) and thought I'd share it as well.

It is amazing to me how these women can move their bodies. So beautiful.

I haven't been too great at getting things in order this week. Good thing tomorrow's Monday. Here's to a new start.

Haven't posted in a while since I started my new job on Monday. Long hours + something almost every weeknight after work makes for a tired, busy, yet very happy Kenn.

This weekend has been great. On Friday night I went and saw the play Oliver! since my cousins were in it. It was fantastic! I love that play. Afterwards we went to Bahama Bucks and I have to say that is the best shaved ice I have ever had! So so good. Definitely taking the drive back to Mesa or Tempe for some more.
Then on Saturday I went to the local farmers market, got these two pendants (the bone looking one is actually a shell), some bread, hummus, and delicious homemade spaghetti sauce. Yum.
I also went to a yard sale and found some great books. One of which is this Wide World Atlas. I love looking at all the maps. Makes me want to travel so much...
After all my morning ventures I went down to Tempe with my friend Klent and we watched a little dance competition and explored this interesting tent thing. I'm not sure why it's there... It was just over this street that was pretty much deserted but looked new...? I don't know. It looked cool though.
And then today, Sunday. Church this afternoon was probably the best block I have been to in a long time! I felt the Spirit so much and could just feel the love of the ward. I definitely feel a strong sense of home and belonging now. I love it. This is truly a blessing in my life since I was having such a hard time adjusting to moving away from home (Which I can not wait to go visit next month). This week has just brought so much clarity to me. All I can say is love love love love love. :)

Oh and since I missed Music Saturday I'll do a music Sunday.

A lady from my ward, Leslie, sang this for us in Relief Society and it was so beautiful. Hope you enjoy it!

Last Monday was probably the best I have had in a long time. Me and Madi "rainbow washed" my car with food coloring and sprinkles (Don't call me dumb. My car's fine), then we twirled in the rain and played games with the hose until McKenzie got home. That's when I finally got to dry off (I was freezing in those wet clothes) in the driveway as we played BS and listened to Madi play us some of her made-up songs.
I wish every Monday was like last weeks. Happy Monday!

I really dislike the word thrifting. But at the same time I really love thrifting. It's love-hate. ++++ love.

I found these last Saturday at a yard sale. I was very sad I didn't find anything else (such as a dresser or book shelf), no one here gets rid of anything decent... It's ridiculous. I need to go to some thrift stores up north next time I have time off from work.

Oh and I am switching jobs right now. I just found ( Maybe not found, since I wasn't looking. It just came up.) a full time nanny job that I will be starting in the middle of October. I am so excited for this new job but so sorry to be leaving the family I work for now. It was the, for lack of a better word, crappiest thing ever to give them my two weeks notice. I really like them a lot. I know everything will work out though. I feel really good about where everything is going.

Ah, my first year of girls camp. I think I have about 2 more rolls of blurry mountains from the same week and several images of the dirt. Yes, the dirt. I was a stupid 11 year-old.
I guess it doesn't take much to guess what all these photos are of. But in case you have lived in a cement room your whole life and didn't have access to anything until now, it's trees, dirt, and mountains.
I absolutely adore looking back at what I found picture-worthy when I was younger. Now I am so careful with my film. I don't want to spend it all in one place! I need to buy more film. I think I will do that now. Adieu.

This is probably my favorite roll of them all. These photos were taken with an old camera my friend Katie gave to me. I especially love the double exposure images! They look so dreamy to me.

Just in case you were wondering what the images are:
1-My window back home in Utah.
2-I was trying to circle around the sprinklers going off at the park. I like the addition of the mail truck bumper.
3-Fourth of July breakfast with the Lott's (Katie)

5-Double exposure of a strawberry and I don't know what else. I like the ghostly hand on the left of the picture. And the wood.
6-Boys being naughty. I had to document it. I just love how this picture turned out.

Reunion of Lewis'

A few weeks ago I was able to go to The Lewis Reunion. My mom always told me if you didn't go, you might as well passed up the chance to go to Disney Land. I was so glad I was able to go for at least a day (it's a 3 day event).
There in little Lava Hot Springs, Idaho we had balloon animals made for us by my very talented cousin Matt, played with my cousin's new puppies, went shopping for bug necklaces in town (probably one of the best gifts. Thank you Mom), walked through the museum where I saw this gentleman's amazing mustache (and several other cool antiques. Including a book my Nana donated), and a roof growing grass... Hmm.
After packing up camp we took a quick trip over to Pocatello to celebrate my Nana's birthday at Farr's ice cream. It was awesome to hang out with all my cousins.

These last two pictures were from our trip here, to Arizona, to move all my stuff down. Sun shining in face + Hours of sitting in a truck = boring faces from DJ and Keely. I got no animation in their expressions. I guess I'm okay with it though, no fake smiles here. Just the truth.
My dad drove the whole way. I would have offered but I was sitting in the back drugged up with an icepack stuck to my face. I'm glad that is the only time I will ever need my wisdom teeth taken out. It was very annoying not being able to open my mouth completely and having food get stuck everywhere... But mostly I hated having to take medication for the pain. I don't like not being able to feel what's going on with my body, but when it hurts that much I see no other option. All in all everything went great and I am glad it all worked out how it did. Yay!

I haven't had internet for the majority of this week and it was irritating me more then it probably should have. But I am happy now that we have it back. :) Makes me appreciate it more, right?

Anywho, I signed up for institute today (hope it worked, it was being kind of weird...) and I am so excited! I loved the classes I took over the summer back at the Ogden Institute. They were really great.
That reminds me, I really have to start going at getting my GED and ACT. I have really had the desire to go to college lately. Gotta' fuel that fire! Now (or a few weeks ago...) begins a new chapter in my life. Let's see where it takes me. I'm anxious to know.

Now that that old material is out of the way, I have news. I bought my first car! Drove it around for the first time today and I love it. Can't wait to take it on some adventury adventures!

I also want to say how grateful I am to have such an amazing sister and brother-in-law to live with. They have helped me more then I ever dreamed anyone would.

I have been blessed so much with coming down here.
- Started working within two weeks of moving here. (I love my job! The people I work for are amazing!)
- I was able to attend a baby blessing and fast Sunday sacrament meeting in my old ward, go to a family reunion, pack all my stuff up, visit with a few friends, and get my wisdom teeth out in only 3 days.
- I have had more then I need to live.
- I have my own bathroom!
- And everything worked out and I was able to get a very nice vehicle.

I am just so grateful! There are probably a gazillion more things that I have been blessed with I am just too stupid to remember them. :P

As you can tell, this is extremely old. I'm a bit late with developing this...

Playin' some soccer and football in my dress with the boys. That was fun! I may just do it again.
Speaking of boys, my new best friend here, Austin, got me the most wonderful birthday gift! I saw it on u n g t b l o d and of course had to have it. Such an awesome pop up poem book! And such a sweet friend. :D
I'm still enjoying it here in Arizona a lot. Other then I miss my family so much! I was thinking about seeing them today and couldn't help buy have this huge grin on my face. I felt a little stupid but who cares, right? Heh heh. But yes I do love it.
There are the prettiest sunsets here too. I love watching the sun go down at the barn where the girls ride. just. so. pretty!

I didn't even realize it'd been more then a week since I last posted. I have a lot more pictures then I want that have nothing to do with each other. Here goes.

I listen the Moulin Rouge soundtrack while waiting for Ashlyn, although I have never seen the movie.
I sit on the bed with Remi while the girls play Sims.
I receive "courage" statues for my birthday.
I take a picture of blackness for my wallpaper. (I copy you, Jake)
I spend time with the horses while the girls ride.
And I get a birthday email from a car dealership. How sweet. Who cares if it's a day late. They've been calling me non stop. Wonder what will happen if I don't end up buying a car from them...

Anywho, guys are crazy. Sometimes I wish we could just be friends and call it good. Bah!

Check out that USA collage! Yup, me, Ashlyn and Ryan made that baby on Saturday. I didn't help finish it because I went out to eat with my new employers, which I love by the way! They're great people.
After I got home from dinner I was undecided about going to a stake dance. I didn't want to go because I didn't know anyone, but I did want to go because I wanted to know someone! So I went and sat on a couch for a while and counted the people. 1, 2, 3... 12. (B&W picture is showing the empty gym) There were 12 people there, and I was late! But I guess everyone is later then me because slowly about 100 people showed up. I sat on the couch for a few more minutes and decided I was just going to stop being a loner and meet some people. And they were great people! That stake dance is going on my top 5 stake dance memories. Not being antisocial is fun!
Anywho, see that deer card? Pretty awesome, I know. It's my birthday party invitation and I love it! I didn't really wanna give them out because I liked them so much. I was surprised we found enough people to give all 17 to. Hopefully this party doesn't flop. That'd be a little disappointing.
And God said hello to me today. :) Haha! That last photo just about made my day as I drove home from work. It was much prettier in real life.
And on a random note, I really want to get my 7 roles of film developed. I'm dying from the suspense!

I found Amy Lind's paintings on my friend Katie's blog list and they just blow me away. They are so beautiful. They make me feel all sorts of emotions. These are just so perfect.

She had a show back in May that wasn't too far from where I live now. Wish I could have been here to see it for myself.

Having nothing to do all day is getting tedious. I am so anxious to start working and maybe making some friends here... Heh heh... That'd be great. The ward I'm in now is having a lake trip AND a stake dance this Saturday. Might be a bit much for me but I'm gonna go anyways because I wanna meet some people and stop watching Netflix all freaking day. I've never really had to make new friends, well none that I was intruding in there space for. They were always moving into my area, never the other way around. I guess I just like being "in charge" of my surroundings. But that's done away with. I will just have to get out of my comfort zone. :) Yay....

Picture worthy moments= Home-made buffalo chicken pizza and a strenuous 15 minute stay at the pool.

I may make it sound like I'm completely bored, but really I love it here and I don't mind not having anything to do for a while. It'll make me appreciate it more later on.

Random story... Keely called me yesterday and told me Oliver was looking at all the pictures I have up on my wall in Utah and he said "I miss Kenna" and started crying. I wasn't able to talk to him because he was on a 4-wheeling trip with my dad and brothers. I miss my baby Ollie so much. I was glad when he called me this afternoon and said "Ok so about the 4-wheeling madoodle, I am going to send you some bullet shells and a small bullet." He always liked to give me little treasures he found, and sometimes I wan't the most excepting recipient. I knew one day I'd miss them...

Arizona weekend

Lot's of sitting around (I don't know what to do with myself without all my friends and possessions!), taking random pictures of my hand, and more swimming then I did the whole summer in Utah. It's been nice. I really love it here. I just hope the pace picks up soon. Which it probably will this next week since we've already found a job! We only have a slight problem with transportation but I am completely confident it will work out.
Also I have worked out to the point of actually sweating! And I was inside so I can't blame it on the heat. Haven't done that for more than a year. Hopefully I can keep it up!

what I've been up to and leaving

I'm sad I've taken so few photos of my week. But I like all of these anyway so it's fine I guess. :)

Over the weekend I had my friend Charlene over. She's a sweetheart. This is the first time we've actually hung out and I'm sad we didn't do it sooner. We hung out with Jake and Josh, went to the library, made popsicles, and went to a stake dance. It was great. (That's Jake in the rainbow picture. I love it. :)

Keely did some awesome sidewalk drawings while we were at the library. I wanna do some today.

Sunday was little Oliver's 7th birthday! That afternoon he said "Kenna, I'm Josh's favorite number!" (Josh is missing a few fingers and only has 7, so obviously that would be his favorite number) he cracks me up. I thought it was the funniest to watch him have Happy Birthday sung to him. As everyone was looking at him, singing, he slowly cowered away from the cake to almost standing behind the recliner. He had his trying-not-to-smile-because-i'm-embarrassed face on. It was so cute. :) And right after he got his cake and ice cream he went straight down stairs and got on the computer. That's where he spent the rest of his birthday. And since it was his birthday we just let him do it. I am ~~secretly~~ annoyed that he plays computer games. I think they are a huge waste of time* and now all he thinks about is when it's his turn to use the computer. But I can't do anything about it because my mom's okay with it... Ugh... The frustration.

Anywho, I went to Lagoon on Monday for the third time this summer. I think that's a new record for me. It was really fun just wandering around with DJ. I don't like going with large groups to theme parks, and I especially don't like going with people who are afraid of roller coasters. But DJ is neither of those so it was a blast.
You can see in the picture that I don't have my shoes on all the way. Well that's because they were giving me blisters on my heels. I'm not going to wear those shoes very often anymore.

Yesterday morning me and Stevie went on a hike and I found that pretty plant. I wish I could enjoy it more before I leave, but at least I have this picture.
We got lost for a little while, well more like half an hour. We were only 4 blocks away from the car but we were just so confused. I thought one thing and Stevie thought another so we just wandered around forever. But it was good exercise and we had food so everything went well.

Man oh man I'm going to miss these people.

I'll especially miss taking photos like these with Ollie Guy.

And I'll miss this house.

Good thing I'm coming back in September! Even if it isn't for good.

Well I have to leave for the airport in an hour. Next post will be from Arizona!

Ollie always sticks random things on the walls. I don't so much mind his sticky-note artwork but why he has to tape a plastic bag with water and a penny in it, and his two-dollar bill behind a piece of paper, I have no idea. I guess he thinks it's cool though.
That little bug guy has been on our mirror all day. I am removing him tomorrow if he's still there..
But other than taking random pictures throughout the day, I have also been working on a book I'm making for my friend. His birthday was 3 days ago and I started his present 2 days ago... I'll try to make it extraordinarily awesome to make up for my procrastination.
Oh and more artwork from Oliver. Last night he gave me a dinosaur-shaped bar of soap with a pink ribbon and cute little tag. I really liked his creativity with his name. :) Man I'm going to miss him when I leave in 5 days! It's getting so close... I'm excited though.

It seems like yesterday should have been really long, but it feels like it just blurred past me.

I made french toast and I'm surprised I didn't burn any of them since I was taking pictures and doing my laundry at the same time.

Last night was also our first performance of Arise. I think I ate too much dairy afterwards. I had two milk shakes and a glass of chocolate milk. We usually don't drink milk in my house (rice milk is what we always have.) but it was a special occasion. I think I made myself sick... And then first thing in the morning, what do I do? Get another huge glass of chocolate milk. Yeah... I'm not very smart.

But what else do you expect when I am so tired? I spent my whole night dancing, then stayed up for 3 more hours, and couldn't sleep past 6 AM because it was so hot (Can you see the bags under my eyes in the 2nd to last picture? Yeah.) Or maybe it was because Ollie wasn't in my bed. Yes, he sleeps with me. Kinda' always has... Is it bad to say I don't want him to get his own bed? Ha ha... But then I rethink that when he sprawls out right in front of the fan and hogs all the cool air space. So inconsiderate! Hmm, I probably would have done the same thing though. Dang.

Anywho, I'm not quite sure how I am going to sleep in Arizona when I move down there. I've always loved the heat though. Maybe this can't-sleep-when-it's-hot thing is just a phase because I've always loved being burning hot when I slept. I don't know. *Guess we'll see how it goes!

4th and things

There are a lot of things I'd like to share today but just can't. Mainly because it would be a big-a post and I don't have time.

So to sum up these photos:

-We went to Idaho Falls on the third; the fourth we had family fireworks; and the fifth we went to a parade in Layton.

-I loved young womens this past week! We finger painted with pudding and played scream. So fun to see everyones expressions. :)

-Oliver made me this sweet water bottle. He doesn't know how to spell yet so he just wrote down the letters he knew. I love it.

-And the Arise celebration rehearsals have been taking up a lot of my time lately, especially since we will be preforming this weekend! I'm excited for it. It will be a great show. I've got a pretty good tan from being outside practicing for hours. ;)

Sorry for procrastinating and not writing or anything, my only excuse is my laziness..

ring experiment

This is what the ring use to look like:

But since the stripes fell out I decided to make an entirely new ring!

I was going to solder in a small piece of a rock I crushed with a hammer but that didn't really work so I just took some solder wire and made little spikes. It's kind of a dangerous ring (really, I think I have scratched my leg on accident a few times already) but I love it.

Solder isn't a very hard metal so I didn't know how it would turn out but I can't even bend the spikes, so that's a good sign!

I think I am afraid it's going to happen too soon...

Most of my childhood friends are getting married or are married and it's scaring me.

Even one of my good friends told me he thinks I am going to be married by next year! Ah!!

My dad even keeps telling me I'll be married by 19 like my mom and 2 older sisters. He also makes comments like "Are you married yet?"

Oh goodness Dad. No I am not and I don't want to be for some time.

Maybe it's because I don't trust myself. I'm afraid my brain isn't fully developed enough to make a good decision on who I want to spend eternity with. Whoa. That is a big decision...

Eeeep. I'm scaring myself just thinking about it...

I finally got one of these pretty things after seeing it here, here, AND here.

I love it so much!

I kind of messed up on making it though... I didn't realize there was double sided sticky tape included so I just did it my own way. :P Still looks great though!

You can buy it here on ebay if you want. They are super easy to make and so fun and pretty!

I've been exceptionally happy today all because of this star projector. You have no idea. I can't believe I could get so excited over a toy again . love love love...

General Conference was awesome today! I love.

I slept in, watched Conference, went shopping, more conference, lots of food, Fantastic Mr. Fox, more food, and then weird hair and makeup fun.

Weekend update

This weekend has got to be the best I have had in a long time.

But I am so sad I don't have pictures of ANY of it!

I need to take my camera out more. I used to be so good about it...

Anywho, here's what I did. Purely words... :(

Thursday

I went to Shen Yun with my parents. I was so excited and had very high expectations (bad thing to have.)

It was a pretty good show but it turned out being very repetitive and more like a conversion thing for their church... It was weird. Totally not worth the $50 we paid for each seat; and we were in the back!

Friday

Had an absolutely fantastic time with my brother Ethan, friend Josh, and his friend Steph.

We went to Mojo's (an all ages music venue) to see Josh's band perform (A Sometimes Army. Check it out). And they were good. :) They performed with a kid named Auston. He was amazing. Josh's comment about him: "I think I'd like to have him on my night stand to sing me to sleep." Haha! Oh he is just the greatest!

After the band thing we were going to go to a dance, but I was embarrassingly mistaken and it is next week. So instead we decided to go see a movie, but that didn't work out because half of them were rated R and the rest we had already seen or they didn't start for over an hour. So we went back to Mojo's and found out that his band had left so we just hung out with one of the guys who worked there. He was hilarious! So weird though. I love weird people. :)

Saturday

I went to BYU ballroom's "Capture the Magic" show. It was the most amazing ballroom performance I have ever seen. I want to be on that team when I go to college.

After that I went to see When In Rome with my childhood friend Stevie. She just moved back here during the summer and I hadn't seen her for about 8 years. It was so strange to reconnect with her. She is so fun to be around! We went to Harmon's following the show and got root beer floats and cheese cake, which was a bad idea since I hadn't eaten anything that day and I felt sick the rest of the night... :( But it was okay. I kept my body busy by playing basket ball with my friend from seminary, Keith and his friends AJ. More hilariously odd people. Just gotta' love 'em.

Please excuse any ramblings or nonsensical paragraphs. I'm not very good at telling stories... :P

I hope your weekends were equally as exciting as mine if not more so.

Hello again.

I've just been looking through some pictures today and gonna' post 'em.

Most of them don't have anything to do with each other so just enjoy the randomosity.

My little sister Keely wrote out these rules and posted them on our door. How well she knows me. :) And than my friend Jonathan wrote number 7. What an awesome kid.

A brother built this but didn't want to be in the picture. He's afraid the ladies will think he's nerdy if they find out he plays with Lego's. Haha!

It was going wonderful. Just the best. I watched Psych (Hilarious television show!), made some plans for school, and played with the chidrens.

Than.... I got home and it all just crashed down.

It really shouldn't have been a big deal but just because of accumulating mini-arguments this little thing was a big thing... Not gonna' go into detail but I am just sad. And that's my pity party. Yay.

It was a ton of fun; although I think we went over the budget a wee bit. :0

We went to Tona and had sushi. It was SOOO good! I would definitely go there again.

Anywho! After dinner we went bowling. I don't think sister was having so much fun since I KICKED HER BUTT the first game! Ha! But I think she was ok 'cause she kicked mine the 2nd game...

Home from Idaho

Just got back today from my ballroom competition in Idaho Falls.

I was really fun, however, it was also boring and tiring when I wasn't dancing.

I competed in:

Youth Show routines: Smooth/Standard division 2

and

Youth Syllabus: Bonus Swing, Silver Samba, Bronze Samba, Bronze Mambo, Bronze Waltz, and Bronze Tango.

My only win was when I made it to the finals in Bronze Samba and got 5th place out of about 30 couples with my partner Jeff!

Next year I think I'd like to dance in the Open. Three couples from my team did this year and they did very well. It looked like a lot of fun.

So a while ago I got my computer taken away. I was feeling pretty good about my mom taking it hostage as I was going to catch up on studies, but then I flipped out. I was crying and everything. Pathetic, I know...

So we came to a compromise and here I am... And doing much better with my school work. I hope the motivation drags on to tomorrow.
